Prophetic Warning

These prophets of doom go beyond the run-of-the-mill millenarian survivalists in that they believe the key is not stockpiling guns, food and water, but repentance. They are spreading their message in books, in sermons and on the Internet. Their predictions of doom are sparking a backlash from other evangelicals. I found little use for apocalyptic thinking after I left the church.
Does the bomb also raise the apocalyptic consciousness of people who are not prophecy believers? Does everybody in the world, in some sense, become more susceptible to apocalyptic thinking? Right after World War II, right after the knowledge of the atomic bomb became worldwide, there was quite a surge of interest in biblical prophecy. One prophecy writer published a small book called This Atomic Age and the Word of God, which was actually condensed in Readers Digest. It entered into the secular realm of American culture, and even global culture, I think, in a way that had not been true before.

We know beyond a doubt He is moving in every nation and that He will come again, just as His word says. For Christians, His second coming is a very good thing. Our own personal losses and hardships remind us that this life is far from perfect. Yet as believers we can be grateful that this world is not all we have. It was the Lord himself who said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." No matter how the wolves howl, fangs drip, and opposition mounts on every side, still they will follow him.
The wedding supper of the Lamb (vs. 9) is set in contrast to it. The bride of Christ is the church of Christ and at the end of time, she will share in the marriage supper of the lamb. The day of the Lord is all about judgment and blessing and we need to see both in balance in order to get the full picture of the return of Christ.

It will be a time of nuclear conflagrations, biological holocausts and chemical apocalypses rolling over the Earth, bringing man to the edge of the precipice. To cope with trials, we should metaphorically fast-forward the tape to what comes later. The frightful Trumpet Plagues are coming on the world because of the breaking of covenants on the part of people who should have known better.
Usually, when we say harbinger, it’s a warning – and that’s what this is,” he said. Pastor Doug's Weekly Message Worship with Pastor Doug’s church each week, featuring beautiful music and life-changing Bible study. We need to be discerning and make sure our convictions are based on what we would call a true Christian conscience, not peer pressure, not social media pressure, not news media influence. But if it’s based on genuine Christian conscience, I would support it and say that you shouldn’t give in, unless God moves your conscience otherwise.
In that dream she said she saw the city of Paris engulfed in flames and smoke. She said the news headlines on the tv read, "Attack on Paris" and said the news also mentioned Milan, Italy. She did not see the city of Milan other than it being mentioned along side with Paris. The tree that Cahn saw was a sycamore tree, which was at least 70 years old.

However, true freedom is only found in God’s ways, not in any of these enticements that promise so much but actually result in emptiness. Those who pursue and recommend them are ‘springs without water and mists driven by a storm’ (v.17). The second was a pastor from one of the sixty countries around the world where physical persecution of Christians still takes place.
But let's be honest, if you're looking at this list, you're probably more interested in selecting one of these titles for yourself! Notice that the Rapture does not restart God's prophetic clock. Jesus Christ lived his entire life in the Shadow of the Cross. He came to die on that cross for the sins of Israel and for the sins of the entire world. This is one of the prophecies in the Bible of the death of Jesus Christ. Of course, most of Israel was blinded to it all, as many are blinded to how God is working today as well.

He tells us what sorts of things are coming and how to prepare for them. In that way, he prepares us to stand firm in the storm and to stand ready to meet him when he returns. ” often leads people into unwise and unhealthy speculation, so immediately he clarified what he was saying. His answer in Luke 21 addresses both the more immediate question of the destruction of the temple and the bigger question of the world's end. This dual perspective was necessary because what Jesus said about the temple made people think about the final judgment, and Jesus wanted to put both events into their proper perspective. At the same time there was a terrible earthquake that destroyed a tenth of the city.
God’s Word is a powerful litmus test for our souls and actions. As our lives center on God, giving priority to hearing His voice and reading His Word, we become bolder in sharing our faith. That’s nothing compared to the treasure you’ll find when opening the covers of the Bible. Perhaps it would help to think of it in those terms. Use your imagination to see every word of Scripture turning to gold as you read it. See the words about Jesus in the Gospels as sparkling like diamonds.

For the ancient Greeks, prediction, prophesy, and poetry were often intertwined. Prophecies were given in verse, and a word for poet in Latin is “vates” or prophet. Both poets and oracles claimed to be inspired by forces outside themselves. In ancient China, divination is regarded as the oldest end-times message form of occult inquiry and was often expressed in verse. In contemporary Western cultures, theological revelation and poetry are typically seen as distinct and often even as opposed to each other. Yet the two still are often understood together as symbiotic in their origins, aims, and purposes.
